FROM 1 TO 100: OUR BACK STORY
Bristol Tuition was conceived in 2011 by Sue Beer while she was lecturing Performing Arts Business at SGS College and working evenings as an English GCSE tutor. Sue was disappointed with the faceless agency she worked for, so she decided to start her own, less impersonal, more friendly one! The rest, as they say, is history! Bristol Tuition is now possibly Bristol’s largest combined home and school tutoring agency, offering well in excess of 100 UK qualified teachers tutoring a vast number of subjects, covering the entire national curriculum at all ages and levels alongside more niche subjects, such as music or Mandarin Chinese!
Our reputation is such that we have been invited to work with Bristol University on specific A Level projects for several years now. We also enjoy solid working relationships with most of Bristol and S Glos’s main academy groups: The Cabot Learning Federation, The Greenshaw Learning Trust, and schools within the national Oasis Academy group, to name but three! We are widely respected throughout the city due to our ability to respond quickly to deliver learning on and off school sites and in and out of schools hours.
With an increasing number of primary aged children who are unable to access school due to anxiety or other health reasons, Bristol Tuition has also been working with primary schools across the city to ensure their pupils don’t slip behind. We create and deliver bespoke tutoring packages in the security of the child’s home until they are confident and able to return again to the classroom. Bristol Tuition is pleased to be recognised by Bristol City Council’s SEND provision as an agency that offers high quality tutoring services, provided by UK qualified professionals and we are a recommended Alternative Learning Provider, registered on Bristol City Council’s ALP catalogue.
We have also developed strong long term working relationships with other professional bodies in S Glos, including Education 1st, New Horizons and the Virtual School, S Glos., which is an additional resource supporting the education of children in care. Whatever we are called upon to provide, our clients and professional colleagues know they can expect a friendly, personal service every time.
